Update From the Boardroom
In an attempt to improve the way in which we engage with the supporters we have decided to provide you with a more regular update of what goes on behind the scenes.
We hope that this is the first of a regular set of updates although time constraints and sensitive issues may preclude us from full disclosure at times and we would hope that you respect this.
Nevertheless we hope you find our updates informative and we are more than happy for you to approach us at any time in person.
Attendances:
Our attendances have dropped and, although we do not think this is a problem exclusive to the Harriers in this League (as some recent figures will illustrate), we hope that you will have seen two initiatives we have introduced with a view to boosting numbers.
Our young supporters are our future and so we hope as many of you as possible will take advantage of our Kids for a Quid scheme and encourage your friends to come and watch us.
We also hope that you will encourage as many floating fans as possible to take advantage of the reduced prices for the game against Ebbsfleet.
We appreciate that some of the Season Ticket holders may feel this disadvantages them but as we would hope that these supporters are some of our most loyal, we would ask that you back us in our attempt to increase attendances and contact the club if you feel aggrieved so we can deal with your concerns.
Sponsorship:
We are working hard to attract sponsors for next season. After many years of wonderful backing of the team, Hire It! have decided to end their shirt sponsorship at the end of this season and we thank John Davies and his family for the fantastic support of the club during this time.
John is a massive fan of the club and we need other equally dedicated supporters to fill his shoes next year.
We are working hard behind the scenes but if you know of anyone who may be interested in taking on the shirt sponsorship or indeed any sponsorship, please contact the club.
Wembley 2007:
The Club is continuing its discussions with the FA regarding last year's FA Trophy final and its share of the proceeds from the game.
Whilst this is turning into a rather prolonged affair it is important that we ensure we get the best result for the club. In short, certain revenues are split between the clubs and the FA net of "costs" and we are seeking clarification on some of those costs.
Playing Strip 2008/2009:
We are in discussions with our kit suppliers, Just Sport and Nike, and will be in a position to announce the new design shortly.
Whilst discussions are too far down the line to allow for any supporters' poll at this stage we are quietly confident that you will be pleased with the choice.
Kidderminster Harriers' Football in the Community:
We are alarmed at the reports concerning the shortfall in funding for the scheme and we are looking into ways in which we can help Nick to continue with the fantastic job he is doing.
We will announce more once we have had further discussions with Nick and his team.
Thanks for your support,
Barry Norgrove
Chairman
NB: These notes will be re-produced in the forthcoming home match day programme for our game against Ebbsfleet United.
