Kidderminster Harriers can this evening confirm the departure of one player and the signing of another.

Leaving Aggborough Stadium this evening is Simon Russell, who was the club's longest-serving player.

Simon first joined Harriers in 2004 after his release from Hull City, and after playing in the club's final Football League season, featured in all of Harriers' campaigns back at Conference level.

The winger leaves Aggborough having made a total of 154 appearances, scoring 17 goals.

Simon joins up with Colin Walker's York City side ahead of their game at Northwich tomorrow afternoon.

"Simon has been a great servant to this Football Club over the last few years," boss Mark Yates told harriers.co.uk.

"We were trying to tie something up with him here but unfortunately Simon's not been able to get what he was looking for and he's disappointed we haven't been able to work things out.

"But we knew of interest from York City and we've agreed to let him to go back nearer to his home which is something he wanted.

"We wish him every success with his new club."

Meanwhile, coming to Aggborough is former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Keith Lowe.

The 22 year-old penned non-contract terms with the club this afternoon and is available for an immediate debut in the Blue Square Premier tie at home to Altrincham tomorrow.

Lowe, who can operate at either full-back or centre-half, spent time with the club during pre-season and impressed in the two home friendlies against Hereford United and Plymouth Argyle.

The player has spent his entire career at Championship and League One level, featuring for the likes of Wolves, Burnley and Port Vale.
