HARRIERS slumped to another Conference defeat tonight as Burton Albion ran out 1-0 winners at Aggborough, a one-goal victory being the very least they deserved.

The rampant Keith Gilroy ripped Harriers apart for the duration of the return fixture back at the Pirelli Stadium several weeks ago, and was on hand to once again torment the hosts as arguably Burton's Man of the Match.
He got the only goal of the game in the 66th minute; and in keeping with the theme of the evening it came from a Harriers' mistake.

On countless occasions the back-line fired back-passes at a nervous Daniel Lewis who, despite clearing the ball in all previous instances, didn't look comfortable.
The defence chose the same option in the lead up to the goal, firing a back-pass at Lewis with two Burton front-men charging
down. Despite managing to clear the ball past the duo, he could only manage to hack it out into the path of GILROY who made no mistake with a fine volley into the open net from over 20 yards.

Albion in truth should have been further ahead and out of sight at that point though, Shaun Harrad in particular should've scored at least three on the night having missed several clear-cut chances; particularly in side-footing Gilroy's cutting cross over the bar in the first-half.

Martin O'Connor's troops had very little to show for their efforts all night long, with only one real chance in each half.

That's not including Iyseden Christie's effort shortly before the break that should've given Harriers the lead.

He intelligently charged down an attempted clearance by 'keeper Saul Deeney and after blocking the ball with his back, he managed to stick out a leg and poke the ball home. Referee Robert Vaughn ruled the chance out for what he'd perceived to be a handball by the former Mansfield man.

Gareth Sheldon looked to have some spark about him in the first period, he forced a smart save from Deeney on 38 minutes after pulling off a shot from inside the area.

He was again to deny the home side late in the second period as Taiwo Atieno, who is believed to have played his last game for the club, just about managed to pull off a short-range stab after skipping past Terry Henshaw.
