How did you find the Setanta experience?
Setanta do a great job in showcasing our league. They are innovative and look for new for new angles to get the Blue Square Premier into people's homes. At first I wasn't too happy with a microphone being thrust into my face, but you do get used to it. But any coverage that this league gets is needed and can only be a good thing for the game at our level.

Can you explain why there are teams above us who have smaller gates and smaller playing budgets, and what they are doing that we aren't?
Live I've said before, this season has been disappointing. Nobody has felt that more than myself. But we are determined to put that right next season. I understand your frustration and the question you ask - but I couldn't tell you what budget other clubs have, and I'm sure you don't really know.

What concerns me is that we build a successful squad here and encourage more supporters through the turnstiles and enjoying watching a good team.

What is the likelihood of Justin Richards coming back to Aggborough at the end of the season and will he feature next season?
At the moment Justin is still our player and as far as I'm concerned he will be reporting back for pre-season training with us in the summer. Whether Justin sees it like that, I don't know. But if he does, I'm sure he'll feature.

When you first took charge of the team back in 2006, you signed a player by the name of Paul Smith for a while - an ex-Sheffield Wednesday midfielder. He wasn't at the club for long as, if I remember rightly; he had a few family problems. I don't think I've ever seen anyone pick out a pass as well as he did in his short spell with us - is he still in the game?
Smudger was an excellent player. However, injuries and personal problems prevented us from seeing the best of him. But he had undoubted ability and played many league games for Burnely, Hartlepool and Sheffield Wednesday. I don't think he's playing at the moment.

When will the retained list of players for next season be announced?
At the end of the season. We will be talking to a few players between now and then, but with the majority we will sit down after the last game of the season and sort things out.

Naturally you will look at signing players from league clubs in the summer, as the norm for teams in the BSP looking for promotion... But what are your opinion on some of the players at teams lower down in the league? Players like Lee Steele, Colin Little and Jody Banim (now at Torquay) have all scored a lot of goals this season - do you have any interest in signing such players?
There are some gifted goal scorers at teams lower in the league, and the three you name would certainly be of interest.

Darryl Knights has impressed during his loan period for the club, and it's no coincidence that the link play between the midfield and forwards has improved. If available and affordable, would you like to retain him for next season?
Certainly. Darryl is technically a very good player, he has a decent touch and good awareness, he's definitely the type of player we want.

Given the team's disappointing campaign, what are your aims for next season and how will you go about achieving them?
My aim is to get the club competing at the right end of this division. The play-offs must be our aim (along with most other clubs) and we must assemble a squad capable of getting us there. We must keep our better players and bring in more of quality.

We then will work hard during pre-season to put our ideas across and to make sure we start the season well; we must be harder to beat and more ruthless at both ends of the pitch.

Do you support the FA initiative (trials at lower-league level) to eradicate swearing at and abuse of referees by managers and players?
Yes - football is a passionate sport but the new 'Respect the Referee' campaign is the way forward.
