Harriers and Weymouth will need to do it all again at Aggborough on Tuesday night after this FA Trophy Second Round tie failed to produce a winner at the first attempt.
The two Blue Square Premier sides met at the Wessex Stadium and played out a poor 0-0 draw, probably edged by Mark Yates' men who at least had chances to win the tie.
Weymouth, fresh from a surprise midweek win at Oxford United, failed to register a single effort on goal all afternoon, and could have been behind as early as the sixth minute when James Constable's knock-down in the area allowed Russell Penn to test Jason Matthews in the home goal with a header.
The best chance of the first half fell to Constable - Penn's fantastic work out wide saw him cut inside and get a net ball into the box to the striker's feet; Constable turned and shot well, only to be denied by a combination of Matthew's hand and the foot of the post.
With the hosts employing a five-man defence it was always going to be hard to break them down - Iyseden Christie got into the most space he'd get all afternoon on the hour mark as Penn's neat ball set him through on goal; Matthew's raced off his line to cut off the ex-Mansfield man before he could shoot.
As the second period wore on, both defences held firm but Paul Bignot went close with a teasing cross/shot - and how Harriers must have thought they'd won it with 17 minutes to go. Sub Justin Richards worked brilliantly to plant a great little cross onto the head of Constable, whose header forced a fine save from Matthews.
The conditions worsened and so did the football - the final whistle blew, leaving Weymouth with the long trip to make in midweek and Harriers with home advantage to get through to the next round of the Trophy.
