Harriers Ready for Bulls Friendly
Kidderminster Harriers welcome old rivals Hereford United to Aggborough tomorrow night to finally open their pre-season fixture campaign.
The boys were due to get started against Redditch United on Saturday, but a waterlogged pitch meant a further wait for a squad now ready for some match action.
After returning to full training on July 1, the squad have been worked hard by boss Mark Yates, Assistant Neil Howarth and new physio Peter Dugmore - fitness levels in the camp have been praised and tomorrow night's fixture is the first chance for management and supporters to see how the 2008-09 team is shaping up.
Aside from plenty of aches and pains, Dugmore's treatment room has been relatively quiet - only skipper Mark Creighton is suffering through injury and is likely to sit out the Hereford clash before a possible return at home to Plymouth this coming Friday night.
Manager Yates will give a run-out to his remaining contracted players, meaning an Aggborough debut for new goalkeeper Adam Bartlett.
Dean Bennett and Simon Russell are both likely to feature as they continue to train with the squad, the duo are continuing in talks with Harriers with more news expected in the near future.
A number of trialists will also be under Yates' watchful eye; released Southampton winger Josh Dutton-Black (pictured), ex-Stockport defender Michael Bowler and former Walsall front-man David McDermott are among those spending pre-season at Aggborough.
Tomorrow night's game kicks-off at 7:45pm. Admission is pay on the gate at £10 for adults, £5 concessions and £2 U16s.
